Simon Mairson is a program officer for the Information & Media and Communities & Governance Practices at IREX.

In his role, Simon provides administrative, compliance, and programmatic support for several projects based in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, including Media Literacy in the Baltics, Ukraine National Identity Through Youth (UNITY), and the Georgia Media Program. He has also worked on Learn to Discern (L2D) in Ukraine and the Georgia-based Transparent and Accountable Governance (M-TAG) project.

Prior to joining IREX, Simon worked as a researcher at the Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control and at the Atomic Heritage Foundation. He holds a BA in history from Georgetown University and a postgraduate certificate in Russian from the Herzen Pedagogical University of Russia in Saint Petersburg.
