Zaw Ring is the Founder and Principal of Pinnya Tagar Academy, which aims to empower youth from different backgrounds with the relevant skills and knowledge needed in making positive changes in local communities. As a Principal at the Academy, he oversees the Academy’s recruitment and selection of youth participants; course design; implementation and evaluation of its educational programs; and he also teaches civic education, conflict resolution, leadership skills, and project cycle management . While in the U.S., Ring worked at the Center for Pan Asian Community Service in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked at the Burmese Refugee Service and after-school education program, focusing on monitoring different projects under one vision and goal of the organizations, implementing different projects at various communities, and learning about working together with people from different backgrounds. He is currently working not only in the area of youth empowerment but also in the area of promoting civic engagement throughout Kachin State by setting up small Community Based Organizations.
