Suchith Abeyewickreme is a consultant for Sarvodaya, Sri Lanka’s largest non-profit organization and people’s movement, and UNESCO’s Regional Office for Asia Pacific, coordinating the “Learning to Live Together” ethics education youth program. Abeyewickreme’s work focuses on peace and ethics education and cross-cultural learning. He has seven years of international leadership experience with AIESEC, the world’s largest student organization, and was a Global Youth Ambassador for the United Religions Initiative in 2011. As a fellow at Search for Common Ground in Washington, DC, Abeyewickreme was involved in the ONE NEIGHBOURHOOD project which focused on creating dialogues among newer and older residents around gentrification issues in a variety of rapidly changing communities in Washington, DC. Upon his return from the Community Solutions Program, Abeyewickreme developed a Youth for Peace group to provide young people an opportunity to engage in critical dialogue around social realities relating to peace, reconciliation, and governance in Sri Lanka.
