Sri Rangani Arulmakan is a program officer for the Media Empowerment for a Democratic Sri Lanka (MEND) program, aimed at improving citizens' access to balanced, reliable, and objective news and information in Sri Lanka.  

In her role, she oversees program activities related to citizen journalism, gender and media salons.  

Prior to joining IREX, Sri Rangani has worked with both local and international organizations such as the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), British High Commission in Colombo, Centre for Policy Alternatives and Council for Public Policy in the capacity of a program manager overseeing projects related to media, governance, religious-interfaith activities, and gender.

Sri Rangani is fluent in English and Tamil. She holds a bachelor of science (Summa Cum Laude) in psychology from the Missouri Institute of Science and Technology (USA), MA in human rights and democratization from University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) as well as a MSc (Distinction) in clinical and health psychology from University of West London (UK).
