Rex L. Mlotha currently works as The Associate Youth Officer for The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Dadaab - Sub Office in Kenya, where he is responsible for strengthening the good governance of youth leadership structures in the camps in the Dadaab Operation; setting up and facilitating the dispute resolution process between youth communities, other UN agencies, and NGOs; ensuring youth participation in the decision making process in protection and assistance delivery; and ensuring Age Gender Diversity Mainstreaming. In the U.S., Mlothas worked with Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Street (PSKS) in King County, Washington, where he was involved in conducting research on youth employment programs, including PSKS’s Lasting Employment Advancement Program (LEAP). Upon returned to Malawi from the CSP fellowship, his work was focused on increasing the participation of community members in local development and governance processes through community-based campaigns and leadership trainings in Malawi.
