As the Chief Executive Officer of Deaf Girls Rescue, Rehema Namarome oversees the implementation of day-to-day tasks, advocates for purposeful mainstreaming of deaf girls in programs undertaken by government and civil society, and identifies resources and opportunities for deaf girls and their households. While in the U.S., Namarome worked with Access to Independence in Madison, Wisconsin, where she identified resources for victims of domestic violence, created a database for Deaf Unity, and helped conduct activities that specifically addressed issues pertaining to youth with disabilities. Since her return to Uganda, Namarome has focused her efforts on empowering deaf girls aged 18 years and below, their households, and local leaders in fighting violence against deaf girls.
