Precious Phiri is a Training Coordinator for the Africa Centre for Holistic Management, a Zimbabwean organization where she works on initiatives related to environmental issues, water and natural resources management, food security, and desertification in rural Hwange Communal Lands in Northern Zimbabwe. She has experience in community mobilization, facilitation skills, monitoring and evaluation techniques, community capacity building, and is driven by a passion for evidence-based community development work that improves people’s lives. As a fellow at the Missouri Coalition for the Environment (MCE), Phiri worked on outreach and citizen engagement in matters concerning safe energy, clean water, environmental policy, and community engagement. She also created a statewide directory of all environmental leaders. Upon returning to Zimbabwe, she introduced networking for better environmental stewardship and participatory mapping projects in the Sizinda community where she established the community as a learning site of practice for other communities and various organizations.
