Phillip Takwana Muyengwa is the Programs Coordinator for Youth Initiatives for Community Development-Mutoko in Zimbabwe. YICD-Mutoko was established to build the capacity of local community members in Mutoko to advocate for their rights. At YICD-Mutoko, Muyengwa is responsible for organizational fundraising, research, and monitoring and documentation of human rights violations. As a CSP fellow, Muyengwa worked as a Research Fellow at the Great Basin Resource Watch and also volunteered at the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, Reno office. Upon his return to Zimbabwe, Muyengwa worked to empower young people to advocate for their environmental rights and greater transparency and accountability in the extractive sector.
