As the Chief Executive Officer of Eco-fuel Africa, Sanga Moses works on issues related to clean energy, the environment and economic empowerment of people at the base of the pyramid. He is the inventor of biochar, leveraging agricultural waste to sell clean cooking fuel, and contributes a portion of Eco-fuel’s profits to planting trees in Ugandan communities battling deforestation. Sanga was a 2012 TED Fellow. During his fellowship with Clean Energy Coalition in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Moses worked closely on the organization’s clean energy audit initiatives, keeping a close eye on which approaches to the audit would be applicable to the Ugandan context. Following the Community Solutions Program fellowship, he focused on enabling more energy poor Sub-Saharan Africans to access clean cooking fuel made from agricultural waste.
