As the Director of Save a Youth Save a Life, Michelle Boisselle-Morris is responsible for the design, management, coordination, and monitoring and evaluation of a project entitled “It Takes a Hero,” which works with young men from a marginalized community in Trinidad and their parents to improve their literacy skills, life skills, and parenting. She has also been instrumental in the development of an inter-generational women’s leadership program to build mentorships between women and girls. As a fellow at the Women’s Resource and Interpersonal Violence Prevention Center at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, Boisselle-Morris designed the exhibit “In Our Shoes,” which highlighted stories of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and assisted with the “Clothes Line Project” for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Having completed her CSP Fellowship, Boisselle-Morris is concentrating on the development of a Girls Club in a marginalized community which promotes gender equality, community leadership, and entrepreneurship. Life Skills also forms an integral pillar of this group. The theme of the club is "I Know Who I am" (iKam) and has a strong focus on building self-esteem and establishing values in young girls ages 12 to 16. Girls are encouraged to be bold, strong, and smart as they forge violence-free futures for themselves and their families.
