Mary Anne Baltazar
Mary Anne Baltazar is a Program Officer with the Good Shepherd Welfare Center in Malaysia where she focuses on youth exploitation prevention programs. She is also actively involved with the youth civil society movement in Malaysia, bringing together young people to raise awareness of the importance of the democratic process. While in the U.S., she worked at the Center for Intercultural Organizing in Oregon, acquiring in-depth knowledge about the immigrant and refugee movement in the U.S. She learned advocacy and organizing skills for immigrant and refugee communities and assisted in the running of leadership and organizing trainings. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Baltazar focused on increasing youth leadership among immigrant communities in Kota Kinabalu through a series of trainings and awareness activities.
