As the Research Officer of Institute for Gender and Development Studies, University of the West Indies, Marcus Kissoon conducts research on gender and child sexual abuse, leads training development for key players in ending child sexual abuse, and conducts research and data-based advocacy. While in the U.S., Kissoon worked with New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault in Albany, where he he assisted in trauma training and services for male abuse survivors and was exposed to the laws and medical protocols of working with rape survivors. Since his return to Trinidad and Tobago, Kissoon has focused his efforts on Break the Silence End Child Sexual Abuse, an action research campaign that highlights the links between gender ideologies and child sexual abuse.
