Joseph Nartey has over nine years of experience as an agronomist and project manager on water resource management projects. As a Regional Manager at the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority, he supervises irrigation projects in the Volta Region of Ghana which aim to provide food security at the local and national levels and help reduce poverty in satellite communities. He is also involved in harnessing all water bodies in his region for domestic purposes, including crop production or livestock watering, as well as educating the public on wetland protection. While in the U.S., Nartey worked at Village Gardens in Portland, Oregon, learning about participatory approaches to watershed management.
