As the Programs Officer at Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Uganda, Byaruhanga James Bisheko is in charge of Resource Mobilization and Fundraising, a position he assumed in November 2013 after his Community Solutions Program fellowship. At ADRA, James also provides advocacy training seminars to local governments, civil society organizations as well as ADRA Staff. His trainings mainly focus on Rights-Based Approach to Development, Human Rights, and Transparency and Accountability programing for service providers. As a CSP Fellow, Byaruhanga worked for the College of Saint Rose’s Institute for Community Research and Training in Albany, New York, where he supported Albany-based CSOs by building their organizational capacity and developing their strategic plans. Since his return to Uganda, Byaruhanga has established Focus Consulting Agency Ltd, an institution promoting development in Uganda through capacity development programs including, project design and management, youth empowerment training as well as institutional development packages such as strategic planning, board management, business planning, and staff development.
