Harriet Komukama Bibangambah is a Research Officer at Greenwatch in Uganda, where she is a social scientist specializing in community development, governance, and environmental issues. She organizes and facilitates trainings focused on environmental conflict management and access to information among others. She engages in advocacy for respect of the rule of law and for the right to public participation and involvement in environmental matters. During her CSP fellowship, Bibangambah worked with Earthwork’s Oil and Gas Accountability Project (OGAP) in Durango, Colorado. At OGAP she conducted research related to oil and gas company accountability and the role civil society organizations play in advocating for reform within the extractive industries. Upon returning to Uganda, Bibangambah continued to work with her OGAP colleagues to complete a research paper focused on the extractive industries in Uganda and how to advocate for better industry practices.
