Elayne is a senior program officer in the Information and Media Practice at IREX, where she supports IREX initiatives and programs focused on building resilience to manipulative information and preventing online violence against women, including Learn to Discern and the Transform program

In this role, she supports thought leadership and strategic engagement around the topic of information integrity, internal capacity strengthening, and the innovation and design of new approaches to addressing the impact of manipulative information, including gendered misinformation. In her role on the Transform Program, she contributes to all aspects of program implementation, including management and logistical support, communications, and activity reporting.  

Prior to this role, Elayne was a program officer in the office of the President, where she managed the office of the president and its related initiatives. She also conducted research and writing in areas of importance to the organization, co-authoring several pieces on topics such as fighting misinformation and the value of public diplomacy

Prior to IREX, Elayne interned with the Council on Foreign Relations and the European Institute. She holds a Master of International Affairs (MA) from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) where she studied international relations and international economics, and a bachelor’s degree (BA) from Wake Forest University. Elayne is fluent in English and Dutch, and conversational in French and Spanish.
