As a Project Assistant for Art and Global Health Center Africa, Caroline Luka has experience in gender, women, and girl’s empowerment. For her follow-on project in Malawi, Caroline plans to address the mental health of women and girls who have been victims and survivors of violence in their communities using art.

Caroline will be placed at Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment (WISE) in Saint Paul, MN to learn how the organization conducts workshops with women and girls to address violence against women and share experiences and expertise to create a curriculum that primarily uses art as a tool for change.
