As the Communications Officer for Build Africa, Uganda, Beatrice Achieng works on education and livelihoods in the rural communities of Western and Eastern Uganda. Achieng is also the Founder and Chief of Party of Pearl Community Empowerment Foundation, an NGO that focuses on girls, women and children through dynamic programs that directly involve, empower and benefit rural communities in Eastern Uganda. While in the U.S., Achieng worked at Wellesley Centers for Women in Massachusetts, where she received Communications, Grant Writing, the Open Circle Project (Psycho-social support concept), Donor Marketing, and Project Development training. She also engaged in Library Management consultations with libraries in Wellesley and Boston. Upon completion of the Community Solutions Program, Achieng worked to build a community library in the Tororo and Buteleja districts of Uganda.
