Currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Health at the University of Eastern Finland, Anupa Thapa worked previously a coordinator with the National Hand Washing Program at the Information and Communication Center of the Government of Nepal. As a coordinator, she was responsible for implementing the program in seven pilot districts, managing the entire program team, coordinating with stakeholders and line agencies, developing training manuals, training manpower, and supervising the program’s implementation. While in the U.S., Thapa worked with Community Cradle in Albany, New York, participating in community events like refugee orientations and health, speaking with Nepali-speaking Bhutanese refugees about their needs, and designing and conducting a training for refugee women on domestic violence prevention and interventions. Following the Community Solutions Program, Thapa worked to engage men in family healthcare, creating a more informed population and healthier families.
