As the Program Lead of STIR Education, Angella Bulamu coordinates teachers’ continuous professional development sessions on radio, supports follow-up headteacher peer learning conference calls, and edits online primary learner lesson scripts developed by the National Curriculum Development Centre. While in the U.S., Bulamu worked with Agency for New Americans in Boise, Idaho, where she served as a case manager for the women's mental health grant, developed and led participatory empowerment sessions, and consulted with employment easing resettlement through employment and translating for Luganda speakers. Since her return to Uganda, Bulamu is working as part of the COVID-19 crisis response team that ensures that teachers are abreast with the new realities while staying safe. Additionally, she runs a community learning center which offers free book access and support to improve literacy skills among children.
