As an Advisor and Project Manager for Guate Activa, Allan Ortiz has experience in youth empowerment programs related to political participation, transparency and accountability. Upon returning to Guatemala, Allan Ortiz plans to increase democratic participation in public matters and political accountability among youth of different ethnic groups, ideologies and political views by implementing youth empowerment education workshops. Allan will be placed with Make the Road New York in Brooklyn, New York supporting legal and survival services involving discrimination, abuse and poverty in underserved communities.
