Syako Shekho is a senior program officer based in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. In this role he is the main liaison for IREX programming and provides technical and logistical  support to IREX partners and beneficiaries including the Ministry of Higher Education, faculty members, and leaders of universities.

Syako has extensive  experience supporting workforce development initiatives that bridge public and private sectors. He has participated in many local and international training courses and conferences on workforce and higher education development programs. He has presented IREX’s work nationally and globally in career services and workforce development. 

Syako holds an MA in English Literature from Brunel University London in the United Kingdom and is currently a Ph.D. student from Soran University in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
