Racheal works in the business services sector as the Digital Strategist and Managing Director of Start Social. For non-profit organizations that want to outsource components of their digital/creative marketing needs or supplement their current teams with specialized skills/services, Start Social is a digital marketing and creative consultancy service that helps with accessing services for internal resources, specialized staff, and digital marketing, providing the flexibility to use their budgets efficiently, retain staff that can handle high-volume marketing tasks, and outsource specialized components as needed. Racheal’s short-term goal is to streamline the company’s operations to build capacity and grow its revenue to at least fifteen thousand USD per month in retainers by the end of 2023. Their long-term goal is to build a business that earns upwards of ten million USD per year and is based in the Caribbean but services clients globally while offering gainful employment to talented but underutilized people in their own (less urban) spaces/communities. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Racheal’s top business challenge is streamlining operations to build capacity for future growth and service quality maintenance. During the Fellowship Placement, Racheal hopes to gain knowledge on running a creative service business and the roadmap to sustainable growth.
