Meredith Lopez joined IREX in November 2013 as manager for corporate relations for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. She currently oversees strategic communications and partnerships for the Fellowship.
Prior to joining IREX, Meredith was a program officer at the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU). She managed the organization’s regional programs on Europe, Eurasia, and East Africa with US Ambassadors and other high-level US and foreign government officials, as well as a portfolio of BCIU’s member companies and organizations. She also managed BCIU’s Commercial Diplomacy Training Programs at the US Foreign Service Institute and US Department of Commerce. Previously, Meredith worked for the National Association of Counties, Presidential Classroom, and the US Senate.
Meredith holds a master of arts in international affairs, with a focus in international law and organizations, and a bachelor of arts in international affairs and history from The George Washington University. As a graduate student, she studied at Universiteit Maastricht in Maastricht, Netherlands. She is proficient in French.
