Luis Eduardo Barrueto is the regional program manager for the USAID-funded CREDIBLE project.

As program manager of CREDIBLE, he works alongside youth-led and youth-serving partner organizations to build media and digital literacy and strengthen information ecosystems in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Peru, while bolstering resilience to misinformation.

Prior to joining IREX, Luis accumulated over a decade of experience working in media and communications in Central America. He has designed and implemented communications strategies in support of national and international organizations working to enhance development and promote human rights. He has also managed and contributed to projects and programs for a variety of non-governmental organizations, national and international, as well as international agencies and multilateral entities.

Luis holds a BA in journalism from Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala and a master’s degree in journalism, media and globalization from City University London. He speaks English and Spanish.
