Johann works in the Food and Beverages sector leading Barbados Smokehouse. Johann is educated in economics and manages the finances and business model of the company. The fellow’s business specializes in smoked and cured meats that is largely delivery based due to COVID-19. Given the current situation, most of the food is prepared wholesale style and the business caters to middle- to upper-income clientele due to the price point and convenience of delivery. The products are unique because ready-to-eat meals and freezer-to-table meals are offered. Coming to the YLAI Fellowship, Johann’s top business challenge is Law and Policy.
