Jessilyn Brinkman is a program coordinator for the Fulbright Teacher Exchanges Programs. She helps implement the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers and Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program.

Before joining IREX, Jessilyn volunteered as a tutor and mentor for AmeriCorps Pathways to Success, helping high school juniors and seniors improve academically and assisting them with preparations for their post-graduate lives. Through this program, she met many new arrivals to the U.S. and developed an interest in cross-cultural education programming. She then moved to Daejeon, South Korea, where she taught English to Korean middle schoolers and introduced them to U.S. cultural experiences. While there, she implemented learner-led programs, helping students shape their own educational experiences.

Jessilyn holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in global affairs and foreign policy from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She speaks Korean and is certified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL).
