Heily works in the community development sector as the Founder and Executive Director of Hecho x Refugiados. For individuals and companies looking for unique handcrafted gifts and wanting to support refugees, Hecho x Refugiados is a handcraft enterprise supporting refugees while supplying high-quality gifts. Heily’s short-term goal is to form a legal entity so the company can access resources and funding, allowing it to scale. Their long-term goal is for the company to become a recognized foundation in Central America focused on entrepreneurship opportunities for refugees to help them easily integrate into the country and improve their quality of life. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Heily’s top business challenge is Operations. More specifically, they want to create a legal entity to give the company access to resources and funding to grow and expand its impact. During the Fellowship Placement, Heily hopes to gain knowledge and network with other businesses to learn how to grow the company effectively.
