Emily Brandt is the development coordinator for the New Business Development Unit. She works across IREX’s Strategy and Development Group to coordinate and draft proposals in response to funding opportunities from the U.S. Government and bilateral donors while researching and tracking emerging opportunities.

Prior to joining IREX, Emily worked in nonprofit fundraising and leadership for seven years with organizations focused on education, economic equity, and gender-based violence. These roles consisted largely of grant writing, direct donor fundraising, and donor relations. Emily previously worked in Armenia as a community economic development volunteer with Peace Corps and as a result speaks near-fluent Eastern Armenian and intermediate Russian.
 
Emily received an MA in international studies with a concentration in human security from University of North Texas. She is a PhD student at the University of Texas at Arlington where she studies public policy and administration.
