Brittany Bursa is a program officer on the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Pakistan (Global UGRAD-Pakistan). In this role, she contributes to all aspects of the program, including administrative and logistical support, participant management, and project monitoring and evaluation.

Prior to joining IREX, Brittany gained a TEFL certification, which bolstered her passion in international education and led her to complete a Fulbright fellowship as an English teaching assistant in Brazilian universities for two years. Here, she supported pre-service English teachers and various U.S. embassy-sponsored initiatives.

Following her Fulbright fellowship, Brittany began to work as a United Nations research fellow for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, where she developed international workshops and published reports on key human rights and conflict resolution topics. She continues her research with the Task Force of Americas of Education and several on-going campaigns.

Brittany holds a bachelors of arts in English secondary education, and a masters of philosophy of education (knowledge, power, politics) from the University of Cambridge. She focused her dissertation research on teacher education for community-based language centers for vulnerable migrants. While at Cambridge, Brittany also conducted research with the Global Research and Consulting Group and Cambridge Development Initiative Student Innovation Group to assist in secondary data research for Tanzania and Nigeria. After her time in England, Brittany returned to the U.S. to work in both in-bound and out-bound international student services at universities, where she oversaw study abroad and student success programs.
