Bahruz Babayev helps organizations turn complex technology into systems people use to collaborate, learn, and create impact. As Chief Technology Officer at IREX, he leads the organization’s technology strategy and cybersecurity efforts, supporting teams working across countries and regions.

Bahruz focuses on building a technology-minded culture where staff feel confident adopting new tools to strengthen programs, partnerships, and collaboration. With his leadership, IREX has modernized its technology environment and strengthened the systems, security practices, and data foundations that support the organization’s work in more than 20 countries. He also works closely with leadership and program teams to guide the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, helping IREX improve knowledge sharing, learning, and operational effectiveness.

Before joining IREX, Bahruz held technology roles, supporting international development organizations as well as private-sector IT consulting engagements.

Bahruz holds a master's degree in Automation Engineering Technology from Azerbaijan Technical University.
