President and CEO, IREX
Europe & Eurasia, Africa, Americas, Asia, Middle East & North Africa

Aleksander Dardeli has spent his career transforming divides into shared opportunity—from post-conflict regions to global boardrooms. Over more than two decades, Aleks has led diplomacy, development, and strategic engagement across 30+ countries, advising governments, multilateral organizations, and private-sector partners on building trust, expanding access to education, and fostering economic opportunity.

Prior to his current role, Aleks served as Chief Operating Officer of Save the Children U.S., where he oversaw $1 billion in annual programs, guiding strategy, transformation, and impact. Before that, he was IREX's Executive Vice President, doubling the organization's revenue and expanding its global footprint. He led transformative initiatives, including the merger with Development Gateway and the launch of the IREX Center for Applied Learning and Impact, strengthening IREX's capacity to connect sectors and scale solutions. Earlier in his career, Aleks held senior positions at IBI International, DynCorp International/Casals, the East-West Management Institute, and the International Development Law Organization.

As President and CEO, Aleks is leading IREX's transformation through the IREX 2040 Ambition—building the organization into an entrepreneurial, partnership-driven force that brings together governments, businesses, and civic institutions to address opportunity gaps, division, and technological disruption.

Aleks holds a JD from the Catholic University of America, a master's degree from Columbia University, and a BA from Tirana University in Albania. He lives in Arlington, Virginia, and serves as Chair of the Board of Development Gateway, an IREX Venture.
