Submit Nominations for the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program's Alumni Conference Advisory Committee!
IREX is now accepting nominations for the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program (TJSP) Alumni Conference Advisory Committee. Alumni from the TJSP’s Tunisia Undergraduate Scholarship Program (Tunisia UGRAD) and Tunisia Community College Scholarship Program (TCCSP) are eligible to be nominated to serve on the committee.
In coordination with IREX, the Alumni Conference Advisory Committee (AC) will be a driving force for the Virtual TJSP Alumni Conference. Under the oversight of IREX, the AC will provide input on the planning and the implementation of the virtual conference.
The purpose of the TJSP AC is to serve in an advisory role to IREX to inform the development of the TJSP Virtual Alumni Conference. The primary role of the AC is to request and gather feedback from TJSP Alumni to inform the conference agenda; conduct outreach to potential speakers, fellows, and other participants; support conference planning and support monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts.
For TJSP Alumni interested in serving on the AC, please complete the nomination form and select the “self-nomination” option. Self-nominating alumni will be prompted to submit a statement of interest.
For TJSP Alumni interested in nominating a fellow alumnus/a to serve on the AC, please complete the nomination form and select the “peer nomination” option. Alumni who are nominated by other alumni will be notified and asked to confirm that they wish to be part of the selection process and will be requested to submit a statement of interest.
A separate nomination form should be completed for each alumni nomination. TJSP Alumni may submit more than one nomination form if they would like to nominate multiple individuals for the AC.
AC membership is informed by the peer and self-nomination process. IREX seeks to select four (4) TCCSP Alumni and four (4) UGRAD Alumni for the committee with representation from various genders, regions, and cohorts.
Any AC nominee who does not feel they can commit (for example, given other personal/professional commitments) can opt out of the nomination and selection process.
All selected committee members will be asked to sign a letter of commitment. During the first meeting, to be held in January 2022, the committee members will decide on the position that each member will hold within the committee.
IREX is committed to ensuring an equal opportunity for nomination to all qualified alumni. A diverse committee will enhance the committee’s ability to fulfill the mission of the Virtual TJSP Alumni Conference, thus IREX will ensure that the selection of AC members will be based on gender, region, program and cohort in order to maintain a diverse framework.
The deadline for the online nomination process is January 3, 2022, at 11:59 pm Tunis time.
