Zeid Abu Odeh is founder and director of www.jordandays.tv, a ground‐breaking effort at internet television in Jordan. His initiative demonstrates how online media is able to push the envelope beyond the red lines that traditional media often cannot cross in the Arab world. He started JordanDays as his own project, with no assistance, no investors and no donors, out of conviction that democracy needs people to work for it. The station has now managed the first regular live streaming of sessions of the Jordanian parliament as well as providing live coverage of election‐related riots during last November’s polls and other political events that would otherwise be taboo for the media.
