Tatjana is the program manager of the Learn to Discern program in Serbia.
Prior to joining IREX, Tatjana worked as a media and information literacy expert with UNESCO and the Council of Europe’s North–South Centre. She was engaged in the organization of UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week and worked on the EU–UNESCO funded project Building Trust in Media in South East Europe and Turkey, supporting policy and strategy development for media and information literacy in the southeast Europe region. With the North–South Centre, Tatjana worked on media literacy for global education. She also conducted research and assessed international media and information literacy interventions and provided recommendations for the Center for International Media Assistance.
Before moving to the international sector, Tatjana worked with media organizations in the western Balkans to advance media and information literacy through developing curricula, delivering training, and conducting research.
Tatjana started her career as a journalist in Zagreb, Croatia, and after several years in this field, she pursued work in communications and media development. She holds a BA in journalism with a focus on propaganda from the University of Zagreb, and an MA concentrating on nation-building processes from the University of Sarajevo.
