Sydney Robinson is a program officer on the communications team for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.

In her role, she is committed to showcasing the Fellowship’s impact across the United States and Africa. She supports all aspects of the Fellowship’s communications, including developing and reviewing website stories, press releases, and other editorial content; managing the Fellowship's correspondence; and engaging external stakeholders like Members of Congress.

Prior to the Fellowship, Sydney served as program coordinator for the Global UGRAD-Pakistan team at IREX for two years. Before joining IREX, she spent a year in France teaching high school English through the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) and also facilitated international youth programs, including Jóvenes en Acción and Youth Ambassadors – France. Sydney has a dual B.A. in linguistics and French from the University of Maryland.
