Paul Shalala has eight years of journalism experience, having worked in both private and public media. He has written for both local and international media in print, online and on television. He is currently a reporter at the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation, based at its northern bureau in Kitwe. He reports mainly on politics and governance issues. In his spare time, he runs a blog called The Zambian Analyst (www.paulshalala.blogspot.com), where he writes on politics and governance. Paul holds a diploma in Journalism from Evelyn Hone College in Zambia, and has several specialized journalism certificates from countries including Germany, Ghana, and South Africa. He has won several local and international media awards for his work, including for those published on The Zambian Analyst blog. Upon completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Paul plans to help his employer set up a governance desk in the newsroom and to improve his blogging skills.
