Olena coordinates media exchanges between independent US and Ukrainian media outlets and participants of the Ukraine Media Partnership Program (UMPP).
In her role, Olena contributes to the enhancement of journalism and management skills, as well as sustainability, at Ukrainian media outlets (print, TV, radio, online, and investigative centers) through rigorous trainings in both the United States and Ukraine.
Olena joined IREX in 2011 as a program assistant supporting UMPP and the now-closed Ukraine Media Support and Advocacy Program. As a program officer, she now manages UMPP operations and helps foster long-term professional relationships among independent media organizations.
Prior to her work with IREX, Olena worked at the European Parliament in Brussels, the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, and other Belgium-based diplomatic institutions. She has carried out extensive research at the German Political Foundation and the European Centre for Minority Issues.
Olena holds a double master of arts in Euroculture (Czech Republic and Germany), a master of arts in translation and interpretation (Ukraine), and a bachelor of arts in history and English (Ukraine).
