Nishantha Arachillage is the Founding Director of the Supports of Underprivileged Lives (SOUL) Foundation and the Project Manager for the largest people’s movement in Sri Lanka, found within the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding-USA. This project initiates community level inter-faith programs for conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Arachillage directs the project team, liaises and communicates with the donor organization, prepares quarterly reports, takes part in quarterly grantee meetings, and develops the monitoring and evaluation system for the project. While in the U.S., Arachillage worked with Access to Independence (ATI) in Madison, Wisconsin, where he assisted in advocating and providing services for people with disabilities. He worked with the ATI team in the Assistive Technology Section and increased his knowledge in resource coordination and services. Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, he created a resource center for people with disabilities, which provides educational services as well as local advocacy support.
