Nicholas Northington
Nicholas Alexander Northington is director of diversity, equity, and inclusion at IREX.
Nicholas has more than 10 years of diversity, equity, and inclusion experience. He has provided in-depth diversity and inclusion consulting to government agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
Before joining IREX, Nicholas was the senior manager of diversity, equity, and inclusion and lead supplier for diversity at Freddie Mac, where he led the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion and supplier diversity verticals.
Previously, Nicholas partnered with the Government Alliance on Race and Equity for the city of Richmond. Through this joint venture, he overturned numerous policies and procedures that created racial divides. Nicholas also consulted for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. He advised senior leadership on ways to eliminate racial disparities in Virginia school systems.
Nicholas sits on the board for the Gay Professional Men of Color. He is also a member at large for the District of Columbia Society for Human Resource Management and for the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources.
Nicholas is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He earned his bachelor of science in human resources management from University of Maryland, College Park. Nicholas obtained diversity and inclusion certification from Cornell University.
