Nermeen is an accomplished director, gender specialist and journalist with extensive experience in the management of complex projects dealing with sensitive social and political issues. These include gender and youth focused projects, media campaigns, human rights advocacy, civil society development, and political analysis and research.
Nermeen has implemented programs focusing on research and advocacy on gender, including women’s economic empowerment, the economic underpinnings of honor crimes, the rights and coping mechanisms of single mothers, stereotyping of boys and girls, and gender bias in Jordanian residency and nationality laws.
She has also implemented numerous USAID-funded projects and is experienced in project management and program evaluation for other international donors. Nermeen was also actively engaged with the Pan-Arab and Jordanian media community as an editor and op-ed columnist.
She has a Master's in International Relations.
