Myahriban Karyagdyyeva (Mehri)
Mehri provides senior managerial and technical guidance to staff implementing the IREX Ukraine program portfolio, including America House Kyiv, Bibliomist – Global Libraries Ukraine, and the Citizen Media Literacy Project.
In addition, she manages a technology in education project in Tunisia and serves as Global Training and Technology Advisor for the Beyond Access project, helping build the capacity of libraries to deliver efficient services that meet the needs of local communities.
Born and raised in Turkmenistan, Mehri has worked in Ukraine since 2011 and combines her knowledge of Eastern Europe and Central Asia with 10 years of experience in the international development field. A skilled facilitator and trainer familiar with operations in fast-changing country environments, Mehri plays a leadership role in IREX's efforts to apply global ICT and new media for individual and organizational capacity building, community development, public access to information, and citizen engagement.
Mehri has been with IREX since 2005. She is an alumna of the Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) and spent her senior year at Northwest High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She is fluent in Russian, Turkmen, and English.
