Max Burnham is a Program Associate for the Teachers for Global Classrooms Program, where he helps manage a year-long professional development program for US teachers to globalize their curriculum.
Prior to IREX, Max worked for City Year AmeriCorps, an education-focused nonprofit dedicated to lowering the dropout rates in underserved urban school districts across the United States. He served directly in high-needs schools and ran monthly professional development workshops for 150 AmeriCorps members.
Max received a B.A. in Political Science and Law Societies and Justice from the University of Washington, where he helped produce new research documenting the prevalence and adverse effects of holding juvenile offenders in adult jails across Washington State. He is currently pursuing his M.A. in International Affairs at American University’s School of International Service.
