As an investigative reporter and analyst for the Foundation to Stop Corruption (Nadácia Zastavme Korupciu), Martin analyses government expenses, uncovers scandals, and suggests systemic changes to government policies. Martin is an expert in investigative journalism and policy analysis and has developed skills in analyzing public procurement, using open data to investigate governments, and improving laws connected to transparency and accountability. During his fellowship in the United States, Martin hopes to learn about how citizens tackle corruption; how transparency in the US compares to Slovakia; and the most effective measures to improve government efficiency while also developing his writing and interpersonal communication skills. Upon returning to Slovakia, Martin plans to communicate with the Slovakian government to implement the best practice policies related to transparency and accountability.
