Maram Suleiman is a Senior Program Manager for the US Jordan Leadership Exchange Program (UJLEP) in IREX's Leadership Practice.

Maram is an international development professional with 10 years of experience in leadership development, women’s empowerment, gender justice, humanitarian assistance, and relief programming. In this role, Maram is responsible for the overall management of the program and overseeing day-to-day activities and responsible for designing, planning, and implementing project activities and managing the UJLEP team in Jordan.

For the past five years, Ms. Suleiman has worked on the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Alumni Connection Program (MEPI AC - MEPI/NEA, 2017-2022), managing a portfolio of relationships with alumni and partner institutions, managing day-to-day activities, and providing high-level support to program design and implementation. Under MEPI AC, Ms. Suleiman has contributed to fostering a sustainable network of entrepreneurial alumni leaders across the MENA region who inspire and facilitate civic engagement and enterprise.

Prior to IREX, Ms. Suleiman worked with Oxfam’s Gender Justice program in Jordan, contributing to program development, partner coordination, and grant management in MENA. A women’s rights activist and gender specialist, Ms. Suleiman is a professional mentor and trainer for international, regional, and local organizations working on women and girls’ empowerment. A certified World Youth Alliance member, she has contributed to local, regional, and international youth initiatives.

Ms. Suleiman has participated as an exchange fellow in three different programs: MEPI’s Leaders for Democracy (Washington, D.C., 2017), and Erasmus+ Mobility Project Europe (Slovenia 2016, and Macedonia 2019).
