M. C. Rasmin
M. C. Rasmin is the deputy chief of party for the Media Empowerment for a Democratic Sri Lanka (MEND) program.
M.C. brings nearly 15 years of extensive media and democratization experience in Sri Lanka. Prior to joining IREX, he worked as the director/CEO of Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF) since 2007. Having founded SDJF, he was instrumental in helping it grow as a highly successful local organization to work on media for inclusive democracy. During his time at SDJF, he experimented with various creative media tools including radio drama, community video, short films, forum theater, and digital and creative storytelling for the promotion of inclusion, pluralism, equality, justice, and reconciliation.
Rasmin also has expertise in youth engagement, access to information, and community media. He is an international trainer on radio drama and an award-winning writer, having written and produced more than 500 radio plays through Sri Lankan radio stations. He has also presented more than 15 international research papers, published more than 12 books broadly on media and democratization, and headed hundreds of media advocacy programs for various international and local media organizations.
Rasmin is currently a PhD scholar at Assam Don Bosco University, India.
