Liam Blunt is a program associate with the University Administration Support Program team at IREX, supporting the capacity building of university administrators with online learning platforms and fellowships to American universities.

Liam also works with other teams, including Fulbright and the Young African Leaders Initiative, to support the Education Practice where needed.

Prior to joining IREX, Liam was a program officer at DKT International, where he write grants and conducted external communications in order to support sexual and reproductive health and rights in 90 countries around the world. Liam authored newsletters, promoted success stories on social media platforms, wrote proposals for new funding, and drafted regular reports for DKT’s grant portfolio.

Liam’s passion for international education comes from his time as a teacher in the Zambezi region of Namibia, where Liam taught math and science to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Liam spent the year navigating cultural, economic, and logistical barriers to educational success, working to ensure each student had an opportunity to succeed and grow.

Liam graduated from Western Washington University in Washington State with a degree in political science and a minor in audio technology, music, and society.
