Lamin Jafuneh has ten years’ experience in the healthcare sector and currently, he is the chief executive officer of Nesthet Clinical Services which focuses on providing affordable quality healthcare services to the doorstep of the middle- and low-income earners in The Gambia. Lamin also works at Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital as a senior nursing officer responsible for administering safe anesthesia to patients for surgery, in addition to teaching and supervising students and subordinates in the operating complex. Lamin has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science (Cum Laude), with a focus in anesthesia from the American International University in West Africa. Lamin is driven by his passion for positively impacting people’s lives through healthcare and hopes to see equal access to quality healthcare services by all despite economic status or location. He is interested in empowering the less privileged, community service, and coaching young professionals and has profound skills in the areas of leadership, nursing, entrepreneurship, and coaching. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Lamin plans to expand his work by conducting community outreach and implement healthcare projects to strengthen the healthcare system of The Gambia.
