Janice Soraia Fortes Da Graca
Janice da Graça has over nine years of experience working to develop communities through volunteer mobilization/management, art education, empowerment, advocacy, and inclusion programming. Currently, she serves as a freelance professional, and as the president of AfriYAN Cape Verde, a youth network focus on promoting sustainable development, education, entrepreneurship, health, and civic participation. She also serves as a member of AfriYAN’s executive committee for the West and Central Africa region. Janice is a poet, and a blogger, and graduated with high distinction in Social Policy from the University of Lisbon and with a post graduate degree in Art Education from the Open University of Lisbon. She believes that education is the key to sustainable development and is committed to assist others in living their full potential. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Janice plans to start a company that supports community development through education, arts, social inclusion, and mindfulness.
