Hanane is a senior program officer in IREX’s Leadership Practice.

She leads the MEPI Alumni Connection, which aims to strengthen a network of approximately 2,000 graduates of MEPI programs by providing them with tailored activities to meet the needs of a wide range of backgrounds, professional interests, and age groups; broadening and deepening the impact they have on their communities; sharing successes; and initiating collaboration.

Hanane has over 15 years of experience focusing on democratic transitions, civil society, and grants management. She has led and contributed to US government funded projects and events supporting issues related to youth civic participation, policy reform, women’s political participation, community dialogues, advocacy campaigns, governance, organizational development, and human rights, among other topics.

Previously, Hanane worked with the National Endowment for Democracy, Counterpart, and Vital Voices for Global Partnership. Hanane holds an MA from Alakhawayn University in Morocco and is a fluent speaker in Arabic, French, and English.
